What to know about Semi-Permanent Lip Color

Lip Blush is a semi-permanent lip liner and colour to correct pigment, lip colour and it reshape your natural lips. We apply a customized pigment to add definition and conceal imperfections based on your skin tone and desired look. The final result will look like a lip tint or stain so you can just apply gloss and go. You can also still add lipstick on top to change up your look at any time!

Lip Blush lasts 2-5 years. This varies among different skins types and is dependent on the colour of pigment used, with darker colours typically lasting longer. We recommend regular maintenance touch ups to keep the lips looking gorgeous for years to come.

What is the process like?

Each appointment begins with a topical numbing agent applied to your lips for thirty minutes to help with sensitivity during the procedure.

Your technician will do a mini consultation with you to discuss your desired shade of lip colour, your ideal lip shape and any other questions you may have.

The Lip Blush process will begin with applying the lip colour.

Your technician will continue to numb the lips and take breaks throughout the appointment to ensure comfort.

A typical Lip Blush appointment will take about three hours, from start to finish.

Your technician will go over all aftercare and you will be booked for your second session 8 weeks after to your initial appointment.

Immediately after the procedure your lips may look darker and swollen, stay calm! They will heal to a very soft, natural shade.

How painful is a lip tattoo?

The lips are a sensitive area of the face, however, we do use a numbing agent, before and during the procedure to keep our clients comfortable during the procedure.  Some swelling and sensitivity may be present after the procedure.

How much does it cost?

The Bliss Lip Blush service is $699.99, which includes the initial appointment as well as a touch-up appointment eight weeks after the first appointment.

Will it make my lips fuller?

Lip Blush can definitely create the illusion of fuller lips, as it will define blurred lip lines and uneven lip shapes to create the look of slightly larger lips.

What colours are there to choose from?

We have a variety of lip colours and shades from nudes, pinks, mauves, and reds. We can also create a custom blend to suit our clients’ desires. If you have a favorite lip colour, feel free to bring it in so we can colour match it.

What should I do BEFORE my appointment?

  • If you have a scratch, sore or acne, please reschedule your appointment.
  • The lips cannot be dry and chapped – if they are, we will reschedule the appointment with a non-refundable cancellation fee.
  • Exfoliate the lips 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin.
  • Moisturize the lips for a week leading up to procedure, we recommend Aquaphor.
  • If you get cold sores we advise you see a doctor for an anti-viral medication to avoid an outbreak.
  • If you have had a cold sore, we recommend taking L-Lysine two weeks before and after the appointment to reduce risk.

What should I do AFTER my appointment?

  • You can apply an ice pack 10 minutes at a time to reduce swelling.
  • Apply provided aftercare ointment several times a day to avoid swelling and dryness.
  • Always tap ointment on lips with a clean Q-tip to avoid
  • Do not pick or scratch lips during healing time.
  • Colour will appear 50-70% once healed.
  • Avoid sun and tanning beds.
  • Avoid swimming, sweating, saunas or direct water pressure until lips are healed.
  • Lipstick can be worn once lips are healed.
  • Avoid alcohol during healing.
  • Avoid oily, salty, or acidic foods.

Aftercare is a very important part of any semi-permanent makeup procedure. The lips will look darker for approximately 2-3 days. The lips will then begin to feel dry and chapped after about 3 days as the colour fades.
