How long does it last?
Semi-Permanent Lip Color lasts from two to five years. This varies among different skins types and is also dependent on the color of pigment used, with darker colors typically lasting longer.
What is the process like?
The appointment begins with a topical numbing agent applied to the lips for thirty minutes. This helps with any initial sensitivity. Then you will discuss with your technician the shade of lip color you are looking for and she will answer any other questions you may have. We will then begin the process of applying the lip color. We will continue to numb the lips throughout the appointment to ensure the client is comfortable. A semi-permanent lip color appointment typically takes about two hours. Immediately after your appointment the lips look darker than they will once they have healed, however they heal to a very soft, natural shade.
How painful is a lip tattoo?
The lips can be a sensitive area of the face, however, the numbing agents we apply before and during the procedure keeps our clients quite comfortable. Some swelling and sensitivity may be present after your appointment.
How much does it cost?
The Bliss Lip Liner and Color service is $699.99. This includes the initial appointment as well as a touch-up appointment six weeks after your first appointment.
Will it make my lips fuller?
Semi-permanent lip color can definitely create the illusion of fuller lips. Our technicians can bring the lip liner very slightly outside of the natural lip shape to make the lips appear more full. This will define your lip shape and create the look of slightly larger lips.
What colors are there to choose from?
We have many colors and shades of lip color and can also custom blend a color to suit you. If you have a favorite lip color feel free to bring it in so we can color match it. If not we have everything from nudes and pinks, to deep reds and mauves for you to choose from.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for my Lip Liner & Color appointment?
There are a few things to keep in mind as your lip color appointment approaches. Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuproen unless medically necessary, 48 – 72 hours prior to your procedure. These medications thin the blood. Tylenol, however, is fine. Avoid alcohol 24 hours before your appointment and avoid drinking large amounts of caffeine the day of your procedure. If you are currently taking Accutane you must be off this medication for one year before permanent makeup can be applied to your skin.
How do I take care of my lips after my appointment?
Aftercare is a very important part of any semi-permanent makeup procedure. The lips will look darker for approximately 2-3 days depending on the individual. Usually the lips will begin feeling slightly dry and chapped after about 3 days. During this time the color will look quite pale. Use clean Q-TIPS to apply antibiotic ointment 3 times daily for 3 days. After 3 days, you can continue to use what is left or use a lip balm to keep them moisturized.
