The permanent make-up healing process is definitely a process. We always explain to our clients the daily steps of what to expect after an eyeliner or lip color service, however, there have been times when client’s panic a bit and worry that what they are experiencing is not a normal part of the healing process.
Everything is fine! We promise! The biggest advice we can give is TRUST THE PROCESS.
Permanent makeup when healing can often go from one extreme to another, from being too bold, dark and thick the first few days, to getting flaky and crusty, then feeling too light a couple weeks later. This is all part of the process of how the skin heals itself, and the aftercare of your new permanent makeup is very important. Failure to follow aftercare instructions thoroughly can result in substandard results. The touch-up is also a very crucial step in perfecting your new look. We never want to go too bold at your first permanent make-up appointment, we would rather be cautious and start off a bit lighter and softer then add more at your touch-up if need be.
Here is a fun little diagram of what you can expect during the healing stages of your eyeliner or lip color. We hope this helps you to feel reassured that what you are experiencing is totally normal and we promise at the end of the healing process you will love your new eyeliner or lip color!
